Johnny Depp is reportedly being manipulated by his estranged wife Amber Heard, according to the actor’s friend Dough Stanhope.

The drama surrounding Depp and Heard’s divorce continues with one of the actor’s friends, comic Stanhope, revealing a conversation he had with the “Alice Through the Looking Glass” star. In a column posted on The Wrap, the comedian recounted how he and girlfriend Bingo has spent most of the day at Depp’s house on May 21, just before Heard’s alleged assault claim.

Stanhope recalled how Depp had “opened up in the most vulnerable of ways” about his mother who recently died and his now estranged wife, Heard. “But he opened up … that Amber was now going to leave him, threatening to lie about him publicly in any and every possible duplicitous way if he didn’t agree to her terms,” the comedian stated.

The stand-up comic described Heard’s threat as “blackmail.” He also shared that they told Depp how he, along with the actor’s closest friends, have observed how the model has been manipulating him even before the former Hollywood couple’s marriage. “We’d watched it build like this since before they were married. We’d watched her manipulate and f--- with him for years,” he shared.

Stanhope explained that they never said a word to Depp over fears that the actor would “alienate” them. However, given the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star’s confession during their house visit, he decided to disclose the truth. The comedian also revealed how other people came over to the actor’s house during that Saturday to say the same thing to Depp. Stanhope commented that Depp appeared “dumbstruck” that nobody had told him about the situation but was still appreciative of his friends’ honesty.

The comedian stated that despite hearing negative feedback about Heard, Depp “still pronounced his love for Amber.” Stanhope also revealed that Depp was “presciently aware” that the model may come up with something to “f--- him over.” The actor’s friend even commented on how everything that Depp has disclosed to them about Heard’s threats has already happened.

Stanhope was referring to Heard’s claim that Depp allegedly assaulted her on May 21, in their Los Angeles home. However, the Los Angeles police who responded to the domestic incident radio call did not find “any evidence provided by the victim that warranted a report,” according to the LAPD statement issued to Us Weekly magazine.

Meanwhile, Heard has been granted a temporary restraining order against Depp over her physical abuse claims. The two celebrities were married for 15 months before Heard filed for divorce on May 23.
