Justin Bourque, who killed three police officers and injured two in the east coast Canadian province of New Brunswick on Wednesday, had posted the lyrics of Megadeth’s “Hook in Mouth” song hours before his shooting rampage.

New Brunswick’s Royal Canadian Mounted Police, or RCMP, is urging residents to stay indoors, following the shootings in the Moncton area, while a massive manhunt is underway for the 24-year-old man, who is said to be carrying two rifles and wearing camouflage clothes. The RCMP posted on its Twitter account Thursday that it believed that the shooter was in the Pinehurst subdivision area of Moncton.

“I extend my deepest sympathies to the families of the fallen officers, as well as to their colleagues. Their bravery and actions in the line of duty will forever be remembered” George LeBlanc, mayor of Moncton, reportedly said.

According to reports, this is not the first time that an attacker has used the lyrics of the American metal band. In April, a 22-year-old man accused of killing five people during an end-of-year college party in Calgary had also reportedly quoted Megadeth lyrics from the song “Dread and the Fugitive Mind,” before the incident.

A Facebook account for a Justin Bourque in Moncton is suspected to belong to the shooter as it is filled with rants about the government and police.

"It was really warm in the house, so we opened up the windows in the family room and there he was going across through the back with this rifle on his shoulder," Joan MacAlpine-Stiles told CBC, according to CNN, while recalling seeing the gunman.

Resident Heidi James told CTV News Channel that she “heard probably about four to five shots. They sounded quite loud.”

Gun attacks are extremely rare in Canada, which is regarded as a country with a low crime rate, and is known for stricter gun laws than those prevalent in the U.S. The last multiple killings of Canadian police officers reportedly took place in Mayerthorpe, Alberta, in 2005, when four RCMP officers were killed.
