“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks has endured an extremely difficult past few months. But it appears that the Southern belle isn’t letting the stress get her down.

Speaking to Hollywood Life, Phaedra’s best friend and reality show castmate Kandi Burruss said Parks is holding up following her husband Apollo Nida’s lengthy sentence for bank fraud and identity theft.

“Phaedra’s doing great,” said Burruss.

She added that Parks is keeping herself occupied with a host of projects.

“She’s basically working. That’s how I deal with things too; when I have a lot going on, I just put more into work,” Burruss said. “I know that she’s promoting her book and doing the book tour and stuff like that and she’s not really trying to focus as much on what’s happening.”

The written affidavit on the case, obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, states that Nida was suspected of creating several fake companies that provided him access to people's personal information. It details that he opened fake bank accounts using the identities of those people. He then sent funds from stolen U.S. Treasury check and auto loans into the fake accounts, the document charges. In May, Nida pleaded guilty to both identity theft and bank fraud in the case.

Gayla St. Julian was named as Apollo’s partner in the scheme. More than $2.3 million was laundered into the fraudulent bank accounts.

U.S. District Court Judge Charles A. Pannell, Jr., who sentenced Nida, confirmed the reality star received leniency for sharing criminal secrets with investigators, reports TMZ.

Nida will have to serve five years under parole supervision after his eight-year prison sentence is completed.
