As the premiere of the eighth season of 'American Idol' approaches on Tuesday, comes news that newly added judge Kara DioGuardi is engaged.

Kara DioGuardi and former school teacher turned generation contractor Mike McCuddy were engaged on December 8 while on holiday in Mexico. No wedding date has been planned, her representative told Entertainment Tonight.
