Media reports are ranting about the Kelly Clarkson Self magazine cover controversy where her photo was obviously photoshopped, but Kelly herself, has said numerous times that she is comfortable in her own skin.

Lucy Danzinger, editor-in-chief of Self magazine addressed the new slim photo of Kelly in a blog post.

Yes of course we do retouching, did we alter her appearance? Only to make her look her personal best.

Whether she (Kelly Clarkson) is up or down in pounds is irrelevant (and to set the record straight, she works out and does boot-camp-style training, so she is as fit as anyone else we have featured in SELF), Danziger writes.

Kelly says she doesn't care what people think of her weight. So we say: That is the role model for the rest of us.

Danzinger went on to say this was most likely the truest depiction they have ever put out on news stands.

Inside the pages of the September issue Kelly addresses her appearance, “When people talk about my weight, I’m like, ‘You seem to have a problem with it; I don’t. I’m fine!’ I’m never trying to lose weight - or gain it. I’m just being.”
