Leftovers
Kevin Garney (Justin Theroux, pictured) tries to help out the Murphy family in episode 2 of "The Leftovers" Season 2. HBO

Almost an hour had passed in the Season 2 premiere of “The Leftovers” before Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux), Nora (Carrie Coon) and Jill (Margaret Qualley) showed up in Miracle, Texas, the show’s new home. The episode spent most of the hour introducing fans to their new neighbors, the Murphys – John (Kevin Carroll), Erika (Regina King), Michael (Jovan Adepo), and Evie (Jasmin Savoy Brown). However, episode 2, "A Matter of Geography," will bring the focus back to Kevin and his family.

According to the synopsis, episode 2 will reveal how Kevin and the group made the decision to leave Mapleton. The installment will feature flashbacks of the weeks leading up to the events in the premiere. Back in New York, Nora will receive a strange offer for her house from some mysterious buyers with a morbid curiosity in her home thanks to its recent traumatic history. However, the money will be tempting as she and Kevin debate a cross-country move.

Once Kevin does get to Miracle, he will become entangled in the Murphy family’s problems. John woke up after an earthquake-like event in the premiere to find his daughter Evie missing. It seems Kevin, who has a fair share of experience with unexplained disappearances, will try to help. However, that could prove to be dangerous, as the promo for the episode teases some serious drama. In one scene, Kevin is pulled over by a police officer and forced to make a suspicious admission – “I have a body in the back of my truck.”

Will Kevin get the fresh start he wants in Miracle or will the new town hold just as much chaos as Mapleton? Fans will have to wait to find out. “The Leftovers” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EDT on HBO.
