A photograph of Madonna taken in 1979 is to appear in Christie's auction on February 12 and is expected to sell for at least $10,000 each, according to estimates posted on the company's Web site.

The raw, full frontal black-and-white image was taken by Lee Friedlander, said Milena Sales, a spokeswoman for the auction hose.

Madonna was around 20 and was trying to make a living when she responded to Friedlander's newspaper ad seeking a nude model.

Six photos taken from the shoot were published in Playboy magazine in 1985.

Another photo of Madonna in the auction is taken by Helmut Newton, also expected to fetch $10,000 to $15,000.
