Madonna has won temporary permission to move her and Guy Richie's two sons to live with her in New York City, reports The Sun.

A London judge made the ruling while the estranged couple attempt to come to a permanent arrangement.

Rocco, eight and three-year-old adopted David will join their mum and half-sister Lourdes, 12, in New York. Madonna's lawyers had argued that the boys should not be separated from Lourdes, Madonna's daughter with fitness trainer Carlos Leon.

A source close to the negotiations told The Sun: Everything is going to be resolved in the next couple of weeks. It's pretty amicable at the moment. Things are progressing.

The couple, who were married for nearly eight years, announced their split in October and have so far remained silent about their divorce settlement.
