Police were searching for a man who fled after having sex with his father’s pigs. The incident took place in Cayo District of Belize on Monday.

Police said 40-year-old Albert Ara’s father owns a farm where he raises pigs. On Monday, the man caught Ara having sex with a female pig. On seeing his father, Ara escaped from the pen and fled. Ara’s father reported the incident to police the same day. Police said the unnamed 81-year-old man told them this was not the first time he caught his son red-handed having sex with pigs.

Villagers told police that Ara also had sex with other animals including dogs and chickens. They also felt the man was a “devil” as he practiced occult. Police said Ara had several run-ins with the law and was charged with multiple murders. In 2006, Ara set a home on fire, killing two adults and four children. However, he was acquitted of all charges in 2010. Ara is also the prime suspect in the disappearance of his brother, who remains missing.

In a similar incident in the African nation of Malawi in January, a man was arrested for raping a goat in a field. Police said the goat’s owner saw 21-year-old Kennedy Kambani in his field and initially thought he was trying to steal the animal. The man then returned to the field along with other villagers only to catch Kambani having sex with the goat. The villagers immediately caught the man and took him to the police station. During interrogation, Kambani confessed to the crime and said he took the animal’s permission before having sexual intercourse with it. The man was charged with bestiality.
