Detroit Tiger's player Miguel Cabrera had three times higher levels of alcohol in his blood than the legal limit when the altercation between him and his wife Rosangel Cabrera occurred, police said, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Cabrera's altercation with his wife was prompted after he arrived home drunk around 5:00 am Saturday after partying, according to reports.

Rosangel Cabrera called 911 around 6:50 am. In the call published by the Detroit Free Press, Rosangel Cabrera is heard crying and asking for help. When police arrived she requested for her husband to leave the house, the paper noted.

On Sunday as he walked around the Tigers clubhouse, Cabrera had a bruise and a scratch on his left cheek, FSN Detroit's broadcast noted.
