Teen star Miley Cyrus has been accused of mocking Asians for a photo that showed up online late Monday.

In the photo she is pulling at the corners of her eyes in a slant-eye gesture with a group of friends that includes an Asian friend.

A national organization in the US working to advance the social and political welfare of Asian Pacific Americans, OCA released a statement Monday criticizing the teen star.

Not only has Miley Cyrus and the other individuals in the photograph encouraged and legitimized the taunting and mocking of people of Asia descent, she has also insulted her many Asian Pacific American friends, OCA executive director George Wu said in the statement.
