Mischa Barton has a new gig as the spokeswoman for e-cigarette company Vapestick and she says she’s happier now than she was on “The O.C.” In fact, Barton told Metro she regrets ever doing the hit Fox drama. When asked if she would still do the show if she had to choose again, she said, “Probably not.”

Barton went on to tell Metro, “It’s something I came so close to not doing. I had a really great thing with film. People say be grateful for what you have but it certainly not the kind of thing I was expecting it to be…I’ve kind of seen it all.”

Fans may remember Barton's character, Marissa Cooper, as one of the core four characers on "The O.C." The privleged California girl was a major part of the show's first three season's before her death in the Season 3 finale when a jealous ex-boyfriend ran her car off the road.

“The O.C." made Barton a star, but she soon became tabloid fodder as her off-screen behavior garnered significant media attention. Barton was arrested in 2009 for drunk driving and her home is currently in foreclosure. The 28-year-old commented on dealing with tabloid scrutiny, saying “I just like to be seen for the hard-working actress that I am and not for a bunch of extraneous press. In general people are super quick to harbor on the gossipy stuff and less on how much work goes into it.”

Mischa Barton's not the only one who regrets her time on “The O.C.” Her Fox costars appear to regret her involvement in the show as well. After Barton had a break down last year, sources told Perez Hilton that costar Rachel Bilson had urged her fellow cast mates to stay away from Barton, whom she felt was tarnishing all of their careers.

Barton will soon be appearing in a television campaign for Vapestick. She can be seen in a Vapestick promo video below.
