Neal S. Wolin was confirmed as the Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury by the United States by Senate late Monday.

Wolin served at the Hartford Financial Services Group between 2001 and 2008 and most recently as President and Chief Operating Officer for Property and Casualty Operations and previously as General Counsel.

The deputy secretary, a graduate of Yale Law school, worked in a private law practice at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering in Washington, DC in the early days of his career.
