Long time New England Patriots linebacker Mosi Tatupu died Tuesday at the age of 54, according to the Honolulu Star Bulletin.

Tatupu , who was born in Pago Pago, American Samoa, played 13 seasons with the Patriots and one last season with the Los Angeles Rams. He died from complications of high blood pressure and additional health issues.

What is known is that a family friend, Barry Markowitz, told the paper, (Tatupa) had some health issues.

Tatupu finished his career with 612 carries for 2,415 yards and 18 TDs and made the Pro Bowl as a special teams player in 1986.
