Nvidia announced that the Quadro FX 4800, the company's most advanced professional graphics card, is now available to Mac Pro users, offering advanced graphics features and capabilities.

The Quadro FX 4800 GPU for Mac lists for $1,799 delivers results that push the realms of visualization. It has large 1.5 GB graphics memory for real time processing of large datasets enabling increased interactivity and image quality. Combine high-performance graphics and high-performance computation for analysis of complex, multivariate data.

“Some of the world’s most challenging visual computing problems are solved on the Mac platform,” said Jeff Brown, general manager, Professional Solutions, NVIDIA. “The Quadro FX 4800 provides the power and speed to meet these demanding requirements.”

The FX 4800 features a standard 3-pin stereo connector for true 3D stereoscopic imaging. Given to the right set of users such as Architects, digital artists, medical scientists, and other professionals has the new pro graphics dynamically allocates compute, geometry, shading and pixel processing power.

The specifications of the graphics consist of CUDA Parallel Processor Cores with a memory Size of 1.5 GB , a 384-bit of Memory interface and 76.8 GB/sec memory bandwidth.

It has a Two Dual Link DVI Stereo Display Connectors with a two slots and a maximum Power Consumption is 150W.

The Pro Graphics 4800 will be available in May 2009 through Apple.com, and select Apple resellers and workstation integrators.
