ExxonMobil and Chevron were ranked among the top 10 stocks that performed the best over the past 20 years, according to statistics from CNBC reported Monday.

ExxonMobil's stock increased 540 percent and Chevron's grew 398 percent since April, 17, 1989, according to the Network. The giant oil firms occupy the fifth and sixth places in the rank, respectively.

At the top of the list is Procter & Gamble's stock with a rise of 780 percent, followed by United Technologies with a 723 percent increase, McDonald's at 718 percent growth and Coca-Cola climbing 594 percent in the same period of time.

General Electric's stock was ranked number nine growing 211 percent.
