Patrick Swayze will write a memoir that will chronicle his battle with pancreatic cancer, his spokeswoman said Friday.

The star of The Beast is talking to publishers about the project next week and his wife will collaborate on the book with him, Us Magazine said.

The actor has been battling pancreatic cancer since it was diagnosed in 2008. He also spent a week in the hospital earlier this month after contracting pneumonia.

There's a lot of fear here, Swayze, 56, told Barbara Walters in a television interview.

There's a lot of stuff going on. Yeah, I'm scared. Yeah, I'm angry. Yeah, I'm [asking] why me. Yeah, I'm all this stuff. You can bet that I'm going through hell. And I've only seen the beginning of it.

Swayze also shared his thoughts on dying.

I don't know what's on the other side. It tests everything I believe in … that here is something unique in all of us that does not, does not die.
