A pedophile, who fooled parents by advertising himself as "The Peter Pan Nanny," was jailed for 12 years Thursday for sexually abusing three children. Alexander Philo-Steele, 35, targeted three children aged six and seven between 2003 and 2018.

Philo-Steele claimed during his trial that he looked after 100 children but refused to name the families. This sparked concerns as police believe there may be more victims. The suspect, from Earls Court in London, was found guilty of a series of sustained sexual attacks on children. A seven-week trial was carried out at Kingston Crown Court.

The court heard that Philo-Steele used the website www.governorandnanny.com and marketed himself as "Peter Pan Nanny," after his boyhood obsession with the book.

"I am a fully trained and experienced male nanny. I specialize in early years care, education and development," one of his adverts read, according to Daily Mail. "I excel at providing high standards of attentive care. I am described as nurturing, reassuring and supportive."

Philo-Steele evaded checks to hide his previous arrests and charges for indecent assault of three boys, according to reports. Documents revealed that the pedophile befriended a six-year-old boy at a friend's birthday party in 2003 before taking him back to his flat where he sexually abused him.

When he was on bail in 2017 for further allegations of child abuse, he befriended a single mother-of-four to abuse her sons aged six and seven.

Philo-Steele was convicted of seven counts of sexual assault on a child under 13, and of two assaults by penetration of a child under 13. He was jailed for 12 years with an extended license period of two years.

"Philo-Steele showed no remorse throughout this trial and in fact blamed the parents and authorities for influencing the children," Detective Constable Rachel Davison, who investigated the case, said.
