The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis said on Friday personal income rose by $38.4 billion, or 0.3 percent and disposable personal income increased 0.4 percent, or $38.8 billion in August.

The BEA released a report which showed that in July, personal income increased $57.2 billion, or 0.5 percent. DPI increased $62.0 billion, or 0.6 percent, and PCE increased $75.9 billion, or 0.8 percent, based on revised estimates.

In other personal income updates, supplements to wages and salaries increased $4.6 billion in August which was lower than the $8.0 billion increase in July.

Government wage and salary disbursements increased $3.0 billion, compared with an increase of $3.5 billion in August.
