Phillies announced the three-year, $20.5 million agreement with their lefthander Cole Hamels has agreed to a deal with Philadelphia Phillies.

While $20.5 million over three seasons is a nice salary for any baseball player, many thought Hamels would earn a lot more.

Hamels lives in Philadelphia year round and promised a good portion of his contact would be donated to his charitable foundation.

Hamels was 4-0 in the postseason with a 1.80 earned-run average to help the Phillies win their first World Series since 1980. He won the first game in each of the three playoff series and was selected MVP of the National League Championship Series against the Dodgers.
