The U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) detained pregnant teen Vanessa Gibbs over her pistol purse at an airport security check before a flight from Virginia to Florida.

A TSA agent told Gibbs that the gun design on her purse was illegal. Gibbs said of the pistol purse, It's my style, it's camouflage, it has an old western gun on it. But her preference for the pistol style did not go well with TSA agents at the Norfolk airport.

Gibbs said she was headed back home to Jacksonville from a holiday trip when an agent flagged her purse as a security risk. Gibbs said, I carried this from Jacksonville to Norfolk, and I've carried it from Norfolk to Jacksonville. Never once has anyone said anything about it until now.

After agents figured out the gun was a fake, the TSA told her to check the bag or turn it over. She missed her flight by the time the security wrapped up the inspection. The situation made the pregnant teen's mom anxious, as she was waiting for her daughter to arrive.
