Game of Thrones sand snakes
Tyene Sand (Rosabell Laurenti Sellers) is one of the Sand Snakes, a new group who will be coming after the Lannister family in "Game of Thrones" Season 5. HBO/Macall B. Polay

There may have been another major development in "Game of Thrones" Season 5, episode 6, "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken." The controversial rape of Sansa Stark on her wedding night has drawn plenty of criticism and has been the main topic of conversation regarding Sunday's episode. But there may have been another event that could spell doom for a popular character.

Warning: Discussion ahead of "Game of Thrones" Season 5 and "A Song of Ice and Fire."

Vanity Fair says there may have been a death hiding in plain sight, but it seems pretty obvious. During the fight between Jaime and Bronn and the Sand Snakes, Tyene Sand gets in one good blow on Bronn. The camera focuses on the grazing blow in a close-up, but it could also be a Dornish death sentence. The Sand Snakes are the daughters of Oberyn Martell -- better known as the Red Viper due to his use of poison. Oberyn used a poisoned spear in his fight against Ser Gregor Clegane -- the Mountain -- and Tyene is known to ply the same trade as her father. Vanity Fair points to an interview with Rosabell Laurenti Sellers about how her character uses poisoned daggers.

The final piece of evidence may eliminate any doubt about Bronn's fate, so don't read if you don't want to know. VF links back to an audition video featuring Sellers. The video has been pulled from Vimeo, but there is a transcript of Tyene's conversation with Bronn.

"Game of Thrones" Season 5 has changed Jaime's storyline as well as what happens in Dorne. As io9 explains, Jaime and Bronn's storyline is similar to that of Arys Oakheart, a knight in the service of the Lannisters to protect Myrcella. In the novels, Arys helps Arianne Martell in her plan to kidnap Myrcella, but is killed after the plot is foiled. If anyone was to die in this scenario, Bronn is the most likely candidate.

So, is Bronn dead? Until next time on "Game of Thrones" Season 5.
