Thursday marks the 42nd anniversary of the historic Roe v. Wade case, which made abortion legal under the due process clause of the 14th Amendment. Republicans had planned to back a bill banning abortions after 20 weeks but dropped the piece of legislation this week, Fox News reported. Below are some other developing stories you should follow today.

Hillary's Huge Lead

The Washington Post and ABC News released a new poll that shows Hillary Clinton as a huge favorite against top Republican candidates among registered voters. The question " If the 2016 presidential election were being held today and the candidates were (Hillary Clinton, the Democrat) and (Insert Name, the Republican), for whom would you vote?" was posed to a national sample of 1,003 adults between Jan. 12 and Jan. 15. Clinton had a 13-point lead on Rand Paul, Chris Christie and Jeb Bush, 54 percent for Clinton vs. 41 percent for the Republicans, and a 17-point lead on Mike Huckabee. Against Mitt Romney, Clinton had a 15-point lead, 55 percent for Clinton vs. 40 percent for Romney.

Bill And Melinda Gates Want To Cut Child Deaths In Half

Bill and Melinda Gates released their foundation's 2015 Gates Annual Letter, detailing an ambitious 15-year goal to cut child deaths in half, improve health care and vaccinations, and support technological advancements leading to "global health equity." "We think the next 15 years will see major breakthroughs for most people in poor countries. They will be living longer and in better health. They will have unprecedented opportunities to get an education, eat nutritious food, and benefit from mobile banking. These breakthroughs will be driven by innovation in technology — ranging from new vaccines and hardier crops to much cheaper smartphones and tablets — and by innovations that help deliver those things to more people," the Gates explain in the letterr.

Drones, The Future Of Drug Mules?

Drones could be a high-tech choice for would-be drug smugglers in the near future. A drone loaded with meth crashed in a parking lot in Tijuana, Mexico, on its way to the U.S. border, the Washington Post reported. The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle was carrying six pounds of meth and police believe it was transporting drugs between neighborhoods, but drones are being eyed by cartels as a way to smuggle drugs across the border. There are plenty of limitations with using UAVs, including easy detection and weight, but some smugglers might try their luck with a new toy as an alternative to the ever-popular drug cannon, which can fire a 30-pound package of marijuana into California from across the border.

Even A Small Bit OF Exercise Is Good For You

Recent studies like the one saying even exercise won't necessarily offset the risks of extended sitting may make it seem like there's no way to improve your health, but there is some good news. Two new studies have looked at ways exercise could be encouraged and how exercise advice may be "unrealistic," the BBC reported. Looking at the U.K.'s recommended 150 minutes of exercise, one study suggests individuals increase their activity levels slowly. A second study, from the Georgia Institute of Technology, suggests doctors should tailor advice based on the individual instead of a general guideline.
