It's a little more than "Four Five" seconds until Rihanna hits theaters, but fans are already buzzing. Rihanna will be starring in a sci-fi movie. The pop and R&B singer has landed “a big role” in a galactic time-traveling film slated to hit theaters in 2017, director Luc Besson announced yesterday on Instagram. If people could pre-order tickets two years early, they probably would.

Rihanna will shine bright like a diamond alongside model and actress Cara DeLevingne in the film "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets," which follows a time-traveling agent who is sent to investigate a galactic empire. The film is adapted from the French graphic novel “Valerian and Laureline.”

This isn’t the first time the female powerhouse has graced Hollywood. She starred in 2012’s Battleship and was the voice of “Tip” in this year’s movie “Home.” In 2014, she appeared in “Annie” and in 2013, “This is the End.”

All in all, the 27-year-old is reportedly worth $140 million. Clearly Rihanna isn’t acting for the money.

“I have around 800 days of work ahead of me, plenty of time to be discouraged or feel lonely, so I’m counting on your support,” Besson wrote on his Facebook page this summer. “I will try to share my adventure with you as much as I can.”

I can't wait to see @caradelevingne in Laureline......

Besson co-wrote the "Taken" films starring Liam Neeson and directed the 2014 film "Lucy."

For now, eager fans only have the tidbits of information Besson has given on social media.
