The New York Yankees star and baseball's highest paid player Alex Rodriguez has admitted using performance-enhancing drugs.

Sports Illustrated reported Saturday, that he tested positive for two anabolic steroids during his MVP season in 2003 by recording an interview Monday with ESPN.

I did take a banned substance. For that I'm very sorry and deeply regretful, The Associated Press quoted, he said, I was young, I was naive, I was stupid, Rodriguez said in the interview.
