Hearts sank on Thursday when a body was found and it was believed to be missing Long Island mother Sarah Goode, Pix11 reported on Thursday. The 21-year-old went missing last Saturday after her family reported that hadn't heard from her for several days.

The last time the Medford mother was seen, she was at a friend's house in Shirley, where she watched a movie. Goode reportedly left about 1 a.m. on Saturday night and then no one heard from her again. Her family was alarmed and then her car was found abandoned “under suspicious circumstances” in a wooded area a mile from where she lives, Newsday reported on Wednesday.

The police have not positively identified the body, but those close to Goode have reportedly called the situation a “nightmare.”

Goode has a 4-year-old daughter who has been cared for since the 21-year-old went missing.

Newsday reported that the young mother works as a medical technician in Patchogue. She is the youngest of nine children and graduated from Longwood High School.
