The Senate's Sergeant at Arms' Office plans to investigate a claimed hacking into the chamber's computer system, a senior Senate aide said on Monday.

The aide said Senate leadership has confidence in the Sergeant at Arms office, which oversees Senate security, and that it plans to issue a statement later on Monday.

A loosely aligned group of hackers called Lulz Security said they broke into the Senate's computer network on Monday.
