Sharp Corp., the world's largest LCD maker, plans to introduce a wall-mountable 81-millimeter (3.2 inches) thick LCD television as early as August with a 52-inch screen, a Japanese daily Asahi Shinbun reported Wednesday.

The screen is the industry's thinnest, Sharp officials say.

The new Aquos G Series LCD TVs will be offered with screens ranging from 26 to 46 inches, 52 inches. All models will be 4 to 9 kilograms lighter than current models, making them easier to mount on walls.

Prices will range from 180,000($1,500) to 550,000 yen ($4,600).
