Celebrity fashion designer Nicole Richie’s little sister, Sofia Richie, 16, is starring in Madonna’s Material Girl line. This is the teen’s first ad campaign.

Sofia, like her sister the daughter of singer Lionel Richie, signed with Select Model Management in December 2014, and has been featured in Popular magazine’s May issue and ASOS magazine’s July issue. The Material Girl line of Madonna is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year and hence the new campaign. The fashion line is a collaboration between Madonna and her daughter Lourdes (Lola) Leon, and was launched at Macy’s in 2010, according to People.

The new ads feature printed crop tops, leather skirts and sleek body-con dresses from the label. The campaign was shot in the Jane Hotel in New York City, which included a dance party and a cake to celebrate the occasion. Sofia is pictured in one of the ads eating the cake.

Sofia shared a picture from the campaign on Instagram. “It’s such an honor for me to announce that I’m the new face of Madonna and Lola’s Material Girl! Can’t wait to show you the awesome ads we created in NYC,” she wrote.

The Southern California native said she has common friends with the 18-year-old Lola. Being in the same circles paid off when the Material Girl duo was looking for a new campaign star. Sofia said she loves modeling and being involved in the fashion industry. One day she wants to have her own clothing line like her big sister’s House of Harlow 1960.

Madonna herself spoke highly of Sofia, gushing that the teen “perfectly embodies the style and spirit of Material Girl.” Lola also praised Sofia’s style and energy, apart from her self-expression, which comes from hailing from an artistic family.

Lola said she looked forward to collaborating with Sofia. The teenager joins predecessors like Zendaya, Kelly Osbourne and Rita Ora as the face of the brand.
