Actor Lillo Brancato Jr. was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison for an attempted burglary where an accomplice shot and killed an off-duty officer in the Bronx, New York, according to the Associated Press.

The jury acquitted Brancato of felony murder in connection with the death of Officer Daniel Enchautegui.

Both Brancato and his accomplice broke into an apartment to steal prescription drugs after a night of drinking in December 2005.

Brancato became well known through for role in 1993 movie A Bronx Tale, and a recurring role on the television series The Sopranos.
