Following a conjugal visit to a Mexican prison, Maria del Mar Arjona Rivero was caught trying to smuggle partner Juan Ramirez Tijerina out of the prison in a suitcase.

Juan, who has been serving a sentence for a 2007 conviction for illegal weapons possession, was arrested for the attempt.

According to prison officials, Ramirez Tijerina was discovered hiding inside the suitcase as Arjona exited the building following a regular visit.

The official in the Caribbean state of Quintana Roo also mentioned that the woman seemed nervous as she wheeled a bulky-looking suitcase from the prison.
