Saturday September 19 marks the International Talk Like a pirate Day (ITLAPD) which is about talking like a pirate the whole day.

The holiday was created in 1995 by John Baur (Ol' Chumbucket) and Mark Summers (Cap'n Slappy), of Albany, Oregon, who proclaimed September 19 each year as the day when everyone in the world should talk like a pirate.

The way to greet friends on ITLAPD would be with Ahoy, me hearty! instead of saying Hi or Hello.
