The Texas fires of 2011 are still burning.

Fighters from Texas and over thirty other states, however, are having some degrees of success in getting it contained and preventing it from spreading.

The severe wildfires of Texas in 2011 have been caused by the simultaneous occurrence of droughts, strong winds, warm temperatures, and low humidity.

So far, it has scorched over a million acres of land, destroyed hundreds of homes, cost millions of dollars to fight, and claimed two lives.
