American cyclist Lance Armstrong finished 38th on Stage 8 of the Tour de France to remain in third place overall in the race.

Armstrong,the seven-times tour winner is still eight seconds behind Spain's Alberto Contador who finished 35th in Stage 8 and mantains his second place overall.

Contador was six seconds behind Rinaldo Nocentini of Italy who remains the overall Tour leader for the second consecutive day.

Stage 8 of the Tour de France was a journey of about 110 miles from La-Vielle in Andorra to Saint-Girons in France. The Tour ends July 26 in Paris after cyclists complete 21 stages.
