Two negligent mothers left their children in a sweltering car while they drank at a bar.

The two women along with a friend left their 10 children unattended in a hot Chevy Tahoe for two hours on Thursday afternoon while they drank at a Springfield bar.

The children were seen turning on the car and cranking up the air conditioner to keep cool.

Police found the kids around 3 p.m. The temperature outside at the time was 99 degrees with a heat index of 101 degrees.

Mother of six children, Mackisha B Johnson, 25, was arrested along with a friend Christopher M Jones, 38.

Shacona Johnson, 30, mother of the other four children, left before the police got there. However, there are no definite reports of her arrest.

All three have been charged with second degree child endangerment and face up to a year in prison, plus a $1,000 fine.

The ten children who ranged in age from seven months to 11 were not hurt. They are now in the custody of children services.
