The U.S. private sector added 133,000 jobs in May, ADP announced Thursday, a total below the 154,000 Bloomberg News consensus estimate.

The May total follows a 119,000 gain in April and a 209,000 gain in March.

In May, large employers added 9,000 jobs; medium, 57,000, and small, 67,000.
