Miss Universe 2009 crown was taken by Miss Venezuela, Stefanía Fernández, for a second year in a row.

Fernandez, 18, became the 58th winner of the title in the international pageant broadcast live around the world from the Atlantis, Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas.

The top five had three Latinas; Miss Puerto Rico, Miss Dominican Republic, Miss Venezuela, Miss Australia and Miss Kosovo were part of the top five.

Previously Venezuela won the Miss Universe title five times.

The first and second runners up were Miss Dominican Republic and Miss Australia.
