It was a tie this year for the most 2013 MTV Video Music Awards nominations, with Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis leading the pack with six nods each. Timberlake, who already has seven awards under his belt, will go head-to-head against Macklemore & Ryan Lewis along with fellow nominees Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift and Robin Thicke for “Video of the Year.”

In VMA nominations, Bruno Mars was a close second with four. Pink, Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus and Thirty Seconds To Mars each scored three.

Excited stars took to Twitter, displaying their excitement for their nominations in the hopes of scoring a Moonman.

“WOAH!!!! I'm nominated for a #VMA for BEST NEW ARTIST!!! Please vote for me,” Artist To Watch nominee and EDM DJ Zedd wrote.

“Two VMA nominations!! If you vote and get us one, I promise to keep a firmer grip on the mic this time ;)” Taylor Swift wrote.

“Wow, still can't even believe we pulled this video off so to be nominated for a vma is huge!” Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy wrote.

The annual MTV VMAs will be held on Aug. 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., for the first time. Along with the new venue, KAWS will give the Moonman award a one-time-only redesign for this year.

Fans can vote on the website at vma.mtv.com, or by texting VOTE to 22444 from a mobile phone or by visiting MTV's official Facebook page. Voting for all categories, except for Artist To Watch, will end on Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. EST. Fans can vote for Artist To Watch through the live show on Aug. 25.
