Singer Tom Parker from the British band The Wanted has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. The 32-year-old revealed he has a grade four glioblastoma, an inoperable brain cancer.

“There’s no easy way to say this but I’ve sadly been diagnosed with a Brain Tumour and I’m already undergoing treatment,” Parker revealed on Instagram.

He told the UK edition of OK! Magazine that he suffered multiple seizures this summer, and he finally got an MRI to figure out what was happening. He learned he had a glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. “I knew something wasn’t right, but I never expected it to be this. You never think this will happen to you,” he said.

The terminal diagnosis is not stopping him from getting treatment, though. He has already started chemotherapy and radiation. “I’m going to be here, I’m going to fight this,” he said.

Parker has a wife, Kelsey, who is pregnant with their second child. They married in 2018 and already have 15-month-old daughter Aurelia.

“We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way,” the couple assured his fans on Instagram. “We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options. It’s gonna be a tough battle but with everyone’s love and support we are going to beat this.”

The Wanted is a British-Irish boy band that was formed in 2009. Their 2012 single “Glad You Came” went triple-platinum with over 3 million copies sold in the States. The band went on hiatus in 2014. Since their break, Parker has competed on reality show “The Jump” and joined a UK tour of “Grease” as Danny Zuko.
