The lawsuit over the distribution rights for the movie Watchmen has dragged on for nearly a year and is costing Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees, but ccording to those familiar with the deal making say both companies are close to reaching a settlement, reported The Hollywood Reporter.

The superhero film is scheduled to be released by Warner on March 6 was ruled by Federal District Judge Gary A. Feess last month that Fox has distribution rights.

Over the weekend, the two legal sides became more serious and parties met behind closed doors Monday in an LA federal court to discuss details.
