The “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” family is going through a lot more than just a cancellation right now. Mama June Shannon’s daughter, Anna Marie “Chickadee” Cardwell, has decided to speak out about her mother’s rumored relationship with registered sex offender Mark McDaniel. Chickadee, 20, said she was molested by McDaniel when she was 8.

Chickadee told People McDaniel "would try and touch me and all that stuff" when he was dating her mother. TMZ reported McDaniel went to jail for forcing an 8-year-old to perform oral sex. TMZ did not confirm the child was Chickadee, but reported, “It's someone with whom June has contact.”

Chickadee said Mama June wasn’t sure if she believed her daughter’s claims McDaniel sexually abused her. "A week or so after it happened, I talked to Mama, and she was upset, crying and saying, 'I don't believe you. I don't believe you. Why would you do this to me?'" Chickadee told People. "And I was like, 'Mama, he did that to me and I can't do anything about it. You were never there to see it you were always at work.’"

Now Chickadee isn’t sure if she believes her mother’s claims. Mama June has denied she is dating McDaniel, 53. He was released from jail in March after 10 years for "aggravated child molestation," TMZ reported, but Mama June posted a video on Facebook denying she had seen McDaniel at all within the last decade.

“You know, the statement of me dating a sex offender is totally untrue,” June said. “Pumpkin has openly said that I did not -- am not -- [dating] him and also his son. I would not ever, ever, ever put my kids in danger. I love my kids too much. That is my past. I have not seen that person in 10 years and don’t want to see that person.”

“My whole body believes that she is telling the truth," Chickadee said. "But my mind is going back and forth from -- you know, hey, she's telling the truth or she's not telling the truth, but most of me believes her."

After being molested, Chickadee moved in with her grandmother, People reported. It wasn’t until 2012 that she moved back in with Mama June -- just before “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” premiered -- to “get our relationship back on track,” Chickadee said.

If the rumors are true, however, Chickadee said she won’t be allowing her own daughter near Mama June. "I would not let her see Kaitlyn unless Mark is out of the picture or away because I don't want him [any]where near my child," Chickadee said. "Nowhere close to her."

Even if Chickadee wants to believe her mother, TLC doesn’t seem to believe Mama June’s claims. Shortly after TMZ posted what appeared to be a photo of Mama June with McDaniel in a hotel room, TLC canceled “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”

“TLC has canceled the series ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately,” the network said in a statement to USA Today. “Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being.”

Mama June maintains she has not seen McDaniel. However, TMZ has pictures of her and McDaniel’s son in Georgia and reports they were house hunting.
