All eyes will be on Sam Arlen Wednesday night as millions of Americans hope the six numbers he calls match the ones on their Powerball tickets. But hardly anyone knows the name of the man who could make them a billionaire.

Arlen, 32, has been a Powerball host since 2012, ABC News reported Wednesday. When he isn’t calling winning numbers from the Florida Lottery studio in Tallahassee on Wednesday and Saturday nights, he has a day job.

Arlen, a native of Georgia, is a lawyer. He works for a company that helps students who are in law school pass the bar exam.

But his day job doesn’t compare to hosting the Powerball. "It's incredibly exciting," Arlen told ABC News. "I feel just grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of this certainly national, almost international, energy around this game."

It’s the first time the Powerball jackpot, or any other in the country, has ever surged to $1.5 billion. Arlen considers himself lucky to have landed the hosting gig, which is something he's wanted since 2006. "I feel like it's an amazing opportunity," he said. "It's awesome. On some level, I feel like I'm channeling some of that excitement and energy. ... There's just this happiness, this hope that 'It could be me! It could be me!'"

Arlen equated his job to being like Oprah Winfrey. “I get to give away all this money. It's great. I never get on air without thinking, 'Tonight I could very well change the trajectory of someone's life,'" he told WFGA-TV Wednesday.

Arlen has been promoting the lottery on his personal Twitter account. His excitement is just as apparent on social media as it is in his interviews.

The Powerball winning numbers will be announced at 11 p.m. EST. Click here to find out how to watch the live stream of the drawing. Good luck to everyone who played.
