Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner might have an invitation to every Hollywood party, but they didn’t receive an invite to George Clooney’s wedding. Clooney married Amal Alamuddin in a ceremony in Venice, Italy, on Sept. 27. So why didn’t the former "Batman" star invite the present "Batman" and his wife? Jennifer Garner thinks it goes back to when she first met Clooney. She addressed the situation on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.”

Garner told the late-night talk-show host that her kids have brought home all kinds of illnesses since starting school. Once, a couple years ago, they even brought home lice. Of course, Garner took care of it right away, but she had to use a foul-smelling treatment on her family’s hair.

“It looks like they put Crisco in your hair, but you smell a little bit like a mixture of sulfur and rosemary," Garner explained.

However, it seems that Affleck didn’t want a case of lice to kill his party plans. Despite the fact that Garner hadn’t been able to shower after the treatment, Affleck still wanted to take her to a party.

“He came out and he said, 'Hey, um, there's a party. I want to go. Let's go,'” Garner said while doing a hilarious impression of her husband. “And I said, 'I can't. I need to shower. I mean, I'm in, like, cargo pants. I'm nasty in a thousand [ways].' He's like, 'Come on! I mean, we have a babysitter. I want you to come with me.'”

Garner agreed to go because she didn’t want to be seen as "high maintenance." “I don't ever want to be called high maintenance. I am not a high maintenance chick,” the “Men, Women And Children” star said. “So I'm like, 'What's the big deal? No one's going to notice’ … We show up and the first person I see is George Clooney.”

Clooney and Garner had never met before the party. The two struck up a conversation, but Garner thought that he wasn’t impressed with her. “I can see that he smells me, you know? But he was trying to be polite,” Garner explained.

Garner's joke was that it wasn't Affleck's promotional schedule for "Gone Girl" that kept them out of Italy. Affleck has been on a promotional tour for his upcoming movie while Jennifer has been promoting her films, "Men, Women And Children" and "Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day." However, Garner joked that they weren't too busy to attend Clooney's wedding.

“People keep asking why we weren’t at George’s wedding, and we were ‘working.’ But I think he didn’t want ‘Licey’ there,” Garner laughed.

Garner and Affleck probably weren’t the only celebrities left off of Clooney’s wedding guest list. Only 100 guests attended the ceremony.
