Spanish firm Gamesa confirmed it is keeping its wind turbine sales guidance for 2009 with a combined capacity to produce between 3,300 and 3,600 megawatts in electricity.

Earlier today, trade in Gamesa shares was suspended by Spain's stock market supervisor after a report that the company had lowered its guidance for the current year sales.

The report by Reuters stated Gamesa's Chairman Guillermo Ulacia said the company's target was to sell more than 3,000 MW this year but it did not specify the comment was sticking to the previous target.

The company would see lower profits this year but they will still be profits, Ulacia was quoted as saying.
