The young NYU graduate came back to the city from Long Island. She was hit by a sanitation truck in Williamsburg and killed Wednesday night, according to the New York Daily News.

The young woman, Katharine Yun, 25, from Syosset, Long Island, was pronounced dead at Woodhull Medical Center.

According to the paper, the Sanitation department is investigating the incident.

Yun had spent a year teaching English in Japan.
