The stars will join James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Oscar Isaac and Nicholas Hoult (Beast) in the upcoming film.

Chloe Moretz, Hailee Steinfeld and Elle Fanning were previously being considered for the role of Jean Grey, while "EastEnders" star Ben Hardy was rumored to play Cyclops, according to reports.

“X-Men: Apocalypse,” which is expected to be based on Marvel Comics' 1995 miniseries Age of Apocalypse, is scheduled to release worldwide on May 27, 2016.
