The Green Bay Packers are hopeful that Aaron Rodgers can return Sunday after missing the team’s previous game with COVID-19. The expectation is that the reigning MVP will be under center at Lambeau Field against the Seattle Seahawks, though it’s not a certainty.

Rodgers still hasn’t been allowed to rejoin the team since testing positive for COVID-19 last week and enduring a media firestorm over his claims to be "immunized." The quarterback is eligible to return to Green Bay’s facility Saturday, one day before the Packers host the Seahawks.

In order to play, Rodgers must be symptom-free with no fever and be cleared by an independent doctor. Rodgers will most likely suit up for the Week 10 matchup, though he admits there’s still a chance he won’t be allowed to start.

"I think there’s a possibility (of not playing), but a small possibility," Rodgers said Tuesday on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

Rodgers’ status dramatically impacts Green Bay’s chances of winning Sunday. With Jordan Love replacing Rodgers in Week 9, the Packers were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs 13-7, snapping their seven-game winning streak. Love looked overwhelmed in his first career start, going 19-34 for 190 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

During Green Bay’s winning streak, Rodgers had 17 touchdown passes and one interception. The Packers scored 27 points per game.

Oddsmakers seem pretty convinced that Rodgers will start Sunday. Green Bay is favored by more than a field goal against Seattle at various sportsbooks. The Packers would be underdogs with Love at quarterback.

Russell Wilson returns for Seattle on Sunday, making his first start since injuring his finger in Week 5. Wilson’s 125.3 passer rating is the best in the league.
