Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot: Bandai Namco Highlights Details Of New DLC

As promised, Bandai Namco unveiled the key details of the first major downloadable content (DLC) for their hit video game “Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.”

On Saturday, March 21, the renowned video game developer and publisher revealed the DLC titled “A New Power Awakens – Part 1.” It will focus on Whis and the ability to use the Super Saiyan God transformation.

According to the announcement, players will be able to reach the Super Saiyan God level through training against Whis. After this, players will be able to go up against Beerus in what Bandai Namco called an “exclusive Boss Battle Episode.”

This reveal confirms the previous leak on the story arc being about Whis and the chance to fight Beerus. As mentioned in a previous report, there would also be new skills coming in the game, though it was not mentioned in the latest update.

A first look at Super Saiyan God Goku and Super Saiyan God Vegeta were also shown in a different leak. Both are said to be playable characters and not just mere transformation.

According to the Banda Namco DLC update, the newly acquired Super Saiyan God transformation can be used during the main storyline of the game.

It is worth noting, however, that the DLC will only be available through the Season Pass in Spring 2020. It can also be purchased by non-season pass holders alongside the Part 2 but at a later date this year. Details of the second part of the DLC remain unknown as of the moment.

Also included in the announcement, the Ultimate Edition that will be released this spring will include a Music Compilation Pack. It will include titles such as Makafushigi Adventure, Romantic Ageruyo, We Gotta Power, Dragon Ball Z BGM (TV) and Dragon Soul to name a few.

Released last January, “Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot” has since become one of the most popular video games by Bandai. It has already sold over 2 million copies worldwide, 1.5 million of which was during the first week of its launch.

It is also the most popular video game in the U.S. for the month of January, thanks to its hot release.
