Futurescape, the NFT-based gaming platform, has announced the upcoming release of its new NFT collection. The tokens will be closely intertwined with the game itself, with Futurescape operating via a play-to-earn subscription model. Once players subscribe, they will receive access to all available 'Time' NFTs, a randomly generated 'Time Traveler' NFT and a series of LOLLY tokens.

Futurescape will be a time-travel game experience which will revolve around the integration of NFTs into the metaverse. Senior officials from the firm underline how this will be the first metaverse Game-As-A-Service that will be completely decentralized and community-owned. The newly unveiled collection of NFTs will differ from the gaming norm by representing moments in time, instead of pieces of land.

Furthermore, the platform will be able integrate all other play-to-earn games, and Futurescape players will have the option to switch to other games for particular missions and challenges, in order to win Futurescape tokens. The developers are also seeking to ensure that the platform will be able to incorporate every NFT into the Futurescape experience, regardless of whether it was created by Futurescape or not.

The game experience will incorporate a variety of plotlines that draw inspiration from a number of globally well-known TV series and film franchises. The first season will revolve around time travel, and will see the player navigating an array of locations and timeframes alongside avatars of their favorite big-screen characters.

Futurescape will operate through a subscription model, with the gamer receiving a series of NFT-based incentives. The players will then become part of the Futurescape community, which will function as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). Players will decide which aspects of the game get developed, for example.

Currently, the NFT market is estimated to be worth around $3 billion, with the sector having grown by a rate of over 20x between 2020 and 2021. The pandemic-induced quarantine periods helped to fuel this NFT boom in the US, with Americans constituting more than half of NFT investors. Reports highlight that 29% of US adults are interested in the prospect of getting involved with NFT investments. Futurescape's upcoming NFT collection, which will be released early next year, will provide opportunities for those who want to invest in NFTs and collect them as assets, as well as players who are seeking to unlock tokens for the sole purpose of progressing through the game.

"Developments relating to the metaverse are becoming increasingly forward-thinking, and we're pleased to be able to help accelerate this progression through our new venture. Futurescape will represent the perfect intersection between NFT investment and gaming innovation. After this first NFT collection is released in 2023, we have strategies in place to help us consolidate our pivotal role in this exciting arena," concludes Dan Bune, Co-Founder and Developer of Futurescape.
