The Memphis Grizzlies had a disappointing start to the 2015-2016 season losing their opener at home via a blowout. On the road in their next game, the Grizzlies used a high-scoring fourth quarter to beat the Indiana Pacers, 112-103 to nail their first victory of the new season.

Center Marc Gasol led the way with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the Grizzlies, which could only muster a total of 76 points in their season opener loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. Six other Grizzlies scored in double-figures for Memphis and two more got nine points to underscore the team’s excellent balanced effort on the offensive side.

Meanwhile, the Pacers point guard George Hill and forward Paul George had 20 and 18 points, respectively but just couldn’t get it done on the defensive end allowing the Grizzlies to score 39 points in the final quarter. Indiana actually held the 75-73 entering the fourth but faltered in the final minutes.

Grizzlies starting point guard Mike Conley ended up with a double-double of 13 points and 10 assists while the Memphis’ bench added 49 points total led by back-up PG Beno Udrih’s 13 points.

The Grizzlies improved to 1-1 for the season and will have an easy game in their next one, against the Brooklyn Nets, before taking on a marquee match-up against the defending champions Golden State Warriors.

The Pacers dropped to 0-2 to start the year failing to bounce back from their 106-99 loss to the Toronto Raptors in their season opener. Indiana takes on the Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons in their next two games.
